About Your Instructor

A first-generation pilot who teaches in a way that sticks.

Ahviyona Floyd didn't grow up in a family of pilots. She built her career from the ground up, certificate by certificate, hour by hour, as a first-generation pilot earning every rating on her own. Her training came through a rigorous, full-time professional flight academy designed to produce sharp, well-prepared aviators, where she completed the full ladder from Private through CFI-I and MEI. That journey is fresh in her mind, which is exactly what makes her one of the most patient, intentional instructors you'll ever fly with.

As a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), Instrument Instructor (CFI-I), and Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI), Ahviyona offers the full ladder of training, from your very first discovery flight to your commercial checkride. Her students get more than stick time. They get a leader, a mentor, and someone who genuinely loves teaching this craft.

Off the flight deck, she's an active member of her church and a believer in showing up for her community. On the deck, she's all business: sharp on procedures, calm under pressure, and unwilling to sign you off until you're truly ready.

WHAT I TEACH

Training tailored to where you are and where you're going.

Every pilot's path is different. Whether you're starting from zero, knocking the rust off,

or chasing a new rating, we'll build a syllabus around your schedule, your aircraft, and your goals.

01 — Certificate

Private Pilot Training

Ground school, pre-solo prep, cross country, and checkride readiness. Everything you need to earn your Private Pilot Certificate from first lesson to oral exam.

02 — Rating

Instrument Pilot Training

Master flying by reference to instruments, including approaches, holds, departures, and IFR system navigation. Instrument training is currently conducted in your aircraft.

03 — Certificate

Commercial Pilot Training

Sharpen precision maneuvers, refine your aeronautical decision-making, and step into the commercial standard. The first move toward turning flying into a career.

04 — Proficiency

Currency Flights

Stay legal, stay sharp. Knock out your 90-day takeoffs and landings, instrument approaches, or just regain that comfort behind the yoke after time away.

05 — Required

Flight Reviews (BFR)

Your every-two-year requirement done right. Ground review plus an hour in the air that's genuinely educational, not just a box to check.

06 — Required

Instrument Proficiency Checks

Restore your IFR currency with a focused IPC. We'll cover the regs, the maneuvers, and the approaches needed to get you legally back in the soup.

07 — Ground

Tutoring & Ground Training

One-on-one ground school for written exams, oral prep, weather, regulations, systems, or whatever's giving you trouble. Strong on the ground, strong in the air.

08 — Sports

Sport Pilot Training

Learn the fundamentals of flying under Sport Pilot privileges, including basic maneuvers, safety procedures, and regulations for operating light-sport aircraft.

09 — Custom

Training in Your Own Aircraft

Bring me to your hangar. Type-specific transition training, insurance-required dual, or just continuing instruction in the aircraft you actually fly.

10 — Simulation

Simulator Training

Learn the fundamentals of aviation using simulated computer-generated cockpits, including practicing maneuvers, instrument navigation, and emergency procedures safely on the ground.

11 — Discover

Discovery Flights

Learn the fundamentals of aviation during an introductory flight, including basic maneuvering, aircraft controls, and essential safety procedures under the direct guidance of a flight instructor.
